Every year there are numerous major sporting events in New Caledonia. Visitors come from around the world to compete and at the same time enjoy the many attractions New Caledonia has to offer.
The Dream Raid
One of the most exciting sporting events in New Caledonia is the Dream Raid. Raid means contest or race and dream means that it is - well - a dream cherished by all avid sports people.
Generally held in November, the course organizers pick out a challenging route and just about every kind of sporting activity is included. This is serious stuff - running, kayaking, mountain biking, horse riding for 350 kilometers over a 4 to 5 day period.
